Back to Basics: Accounting & Your Year End Close will provide work paper techniques that will enable you to close your books more efficiently and help to ensure your work papers are audit ready.
Covering relevant and updated topics - including SAGIS in 2010 and moving forward, reporting on ARRA monies, and the latest PHAS updates - this session will ensure that attendees feel confident to successfully tackle their monthly and year end close.

- Maximize Operating Fund Subsidy
- Understand how the 2nd PHAS Transition Year impacts your PHA
- Correctly Account and Report for Capital Fund & ARRA monies
- Learn to effectively manage the finances of your Section 8 Program
- Successful preparation of the Financial Data Schedule (FDS), and maximization of your Financial Ratios
- Master preparation of work papers that are audit-ready
- Understand your audit report, and minimize exposure to risk areas
- Obtain strategies to refine your Cost Allocation Plan
- Understand excess cash at your AMP(s)
- Master your internal controls and Accounting Policies & Procedures

About the Speaker

Mr. Alten has helped Housing Authorities maximize both Operating Subsidy and their financial ratio scores. Mr. Alten was a former partner of PHA Finance, PC and co-creator of The PHA Finance Solution.

Facilities |

We are pleased to offer a better than government rate of $140 per night for our guests who will be joining us at the hotel. The block of rooms will be available first come first served, and the guaranteed rate expires on 2/1/10.
The guest room block and the seminar event will both be located at the Windsor Court Hotel, two blocks from the French Quarter.
